The addiction of self harm When people think of self harm two things come to mind. The first thing is that it only relates to teens. The second is that it's only cutting. Well there way off from reality because self harm is common with teens, but it can also carry into someones adult hood. Also self harm can go from cutting, burning, scratching, physically hitting your self and so on. Being someone who's been a self harm addict, it's as addicting as drugs. It is known that self harm releases endorphins, endorphins help clear your mind, which contribute to the addiction. For some people they self harm when there mad or depressed, but others there addictions get so bad they have to do it even when there happy. I can relate to when people who self harm think it's impossible to stop, but if others can do it and over come their past they should believe they can do it to. If you are or know someone who self harms it's important that they get help wether it's from a friend or family member or a professional becuase things can escalate to the point were they are willing to take their own lives. It also helps when you have a good support system becuase we all need someone we trust and confide in.
